Have you recently went into your basement and felt a draft?
In the basement, the rim joist is often an overlooked area when it comes to heat loss. Evidence of air gaps can often be seen with spider webs, green vines growing in the foundation, or opened tops of brick walls.
In earlier years, fiberglass batting worked well. Today, a 2-part urethane spray foam not only insulates better, but also seals all cracks and crevices, even the tops of cinder block walls. Below, you can see some examples of our air sealing.
